Donny and Mary Grace's California Adventures is a story about two young siblings who moved to California to live with their grandparents after their parents moved to Kenya to do missionary work. Mary Grace is the elder sister, and Donny is a 5-year-old boy with Down syndrome.

Leaving their home in Wichita, living in California with their grandparents, and going to a new school turns out to be a greater change than expected. Mary Grace faces the challenges of making new friends and worries about Donny and how he will adjust to the new school. Mary Grace loves solving mysteries. When faced with the mystery of someone targeting her in their new school, Mary Grace teams up with The Grandma Gang to find out who is behind this crime. Read to find out how the mystery unfolds.

Donny and Mary Grace's California Adventures is a fun and entertaining story that also deals with difficult elements such as people with disabilities, adapting to change, bullying, and forgiveness. The author has done an amazing job incorporating these topics into the story in a way that is easy to understand for the kids. The bond between Mary Grace and Donny is beautifully portrayed. Mary Grace is very protective of her brother, and Donny also finds ways to express his love and cheer his sister up. Their grandparents are also very supportive and encourage them to speak up against bullying. The story also has suspense, making it intriguing and gratifying to read.

I recommend this book to all children aged 7 and above, as well as their parents and teachers. The language is simple, and the message is clear. The story teaches kids about kindness, empathy, friendship, and speaking up about their school troubles. I have enjoyed reading this book, and I feel there is something for everyone to learn from it.
There is nothing I disliked about this book.
I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars for these reasons.

The book seems to be professionally edited and has no profanities or vulgar scenarios.
