The book "Swimming in the Stars" by Julie Wright is a contemporary novel that explores the emotional journeys of several young adults, including Addison, Celia, Avery, Booker, and Damion, and their struggles with self-worth, depression, pain, etc. The book explores themes of identity, friendship, and the impact of mental health issues on individuals and their relationships. The book begins its story with Allison and then introduces Booker and others subsequently. Addison, dealing with insecurities, stress, and a recent suicide attempt, uses a diary as a therapeutic tool to navigate her emotions. Meanwhile, Booker learns that his friend Addison, who previously attempted suicide, will be returning to school. As Booker copes with his own feelings and questions about his role in Addison's attempt, he navigates his friendship with Addison and tussles with his emotions.

One aspect of this book that I love so much is its portrayal of mental health issues and the importance of seeking help and support. The author handles these sensitive topics with care and addresses the impact they have on individuals and their loved ones. The characters' struggles are relatable, and their growth throughout the story feels realistic and meaningful. Additionally, the book promotes the significance of empathy, understanding, and open communication in supporting those facing mental health challenges.

I do not dislike anything about this book. The writing style of this book is engaging and emotionally charged. The use of diary entries offers an intimate look into the girl's mindset, providing a deeper understanding of her emotional journey. The alternating perspectives between the characters offer a well-rounded exploration of their experiences.

I'm giving this book a 5 out of 5 star rating. It was exceptionally edited, with no errors. The author captures the inner thoughts and struggles of the characters with authenticity and sensitivity.

This book is a poignant and engrossing young adult novel that explores the emotional journeys of several teenagers dealing with their own challenges. With its relatable characters, captivating exploration of mental health, and emphasis on empathy and understanding, the book offers a valuable and meaningful reading experience. It remains a worthwhile read for those interested in contemporary fiction.
