Have you ever experienced a moment of peace suddenly and unexpectedly interrupted by a calamity? This is exactly what happened to Kelly and Tom in Dorothy May Mercer's novel E M P Honeymoon: Kelly and Tom. As newlyweds, they set out on their honeymoon, unaware of the impending storm brewing. During their romantic getaway, Kelly's curiosity led her to stumble upon a hidden laboratory disguised as a gift shop, which set off a series of events that would change her life forever.

After a daring escape from a terrorist hideout cleverly disguised as a gift shop, Kelly quickly contacted her brother, a respected senator, to alert him of the imminent danger. The senator was confused and concerned upon hearing of his sister's distress, but he was determined to protect his family and country from harm. He rallied his resources and called upon Cynthia, the head of his security team, to investigate the situation and prevent any further threats to their peaceful way of life. Can Kelly and her allies save their nation from terrorist attacks and maintain their safety and security? The answer remains to be seen, but they are determined to fight for what is right.

In this novel, I like the thoughtful exploration of relevant themes such as resilience, bravery, and the impact of terrorism on individuals and society. The engaging plot kept me hooked from beginning to end, as I love a good mix of action, suspense, and romance. I love the dynamic relationships between the characters, which made me appreciate the story's emotional depth, particularly the deep bond between siblings and the budding romance between Kelly and Tom. Finally, I love how the novel seamlessly weaves moments of tension and danger with heartfelt and tender scenes, creating a well-rounded narrative that leaves a lasting impression.

While I enjoyed parts of this novel, I couldn't help but feel that the characters were a bit stereotypical and lacked unique qualities. The dialogue felt stilted and didn't quite capture the nuances of real human interactions. However, I believe that with some adjustments, the author could elevate the characters and their conversations to a more authentic level. With a little tweaking, this story has the potential to be even more engaging. These are the two things I like least about this novel.

I found the plot of this novel to be engaging and well-done, making it a great read overall. However, there were two aspects of the novel that I liked least, which caused me to deduct a star from my rating, giving it a rating of four out of five stars. Despite this, the editing of this novel is exceptional, and I didn't notice any errors while reading. I recommend this novel to fans of action-packed thrillers with a hint of romance.
