The story is about Tina, an adventurous woman, her family, and their journey to South Africa to take delivery of their new catamaran. It was after Tina Dreffin decided to quit her job because of the sexual abuse she experienced. She never expected that this decision would be the beginning of the story of a lifetime for her. It all centered on Tina and her husband, Peter, enjoying their fabulous cruising lifestyle in the Bahamas while raising their two boys on a boat. On arrival in South Africa, they encountered a lot of wildlife, which was a fun experience.

Bluewater Walkabout is an exciting memoir by Tina Dreffin, and it’s a must-read because it takes you through a roller coaster of her life, which doesn’t just focus on the sad parts but also the fun and adventurous parts of her life, which leads to the growth of her healing process. I liked how she created a tender portrait of the growth of her family, and I also enjoyed how the book doubled as a memoir and an adventure.

The adventure was possible and fun because Tina and her husband shared interests in the same activities. So they shared similar ideas among themselves. I liked that every chapter had a picture and a quote that related to the chapter. I also liked how descriptive the author made the book, as it makes you feel like you are on the voyage with them, experiencing it yourself. There is nothing I disliked about the book.

I did not encounter any errors while reading this book; therefore, I did say the book was well-edited, and with that, I give the author a thumbs up for a job well done. I give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. It's an encouraging memoir that looks at many perspectives on relationships and adventures.

I recommend this book to those who enjoy memoirs and those who enjoy adventure and want to learn more about wildlife in Africa and sailing, as they will gain inspiration from what the author and her family have accomplished. Those who need healing from their past lives are not exempt from this book.
