At one point in our lives, we all consider leaving everything behind in search of something or other that will bring us happiness. But many of us do not have the courage and confidence to do so. We worry about the outcomes of our actions and what the future might have in store for us if we were to do so. However, for Chris Longo, the main character of this book, it was quite the contrary. Even if he was worried about the future, he still dared to go in search of a job that was more fulfilling and added meaning to his life, his purpose. As I was following the journey of Chris and how he was helping the veterans, I felt the author, CW3 Cesare Giannetti, had touched so many points that are fears for many of us today and not just veterans. De Facto Pathfinder is a book that encourages the reader to look out for new opportunities and not be afraid of starting afresh. Just like Chris, our purpose will find us if we take a courageous step, and if our purpose does not, we should go and find it.
The positive aspects I discovered while reading this book are that it helps people to analyze and understand the problems we face s well as to look at them in a positive light. Chris analyzed and understood the veterans’ problems and found a custom solution for each one and hoped they would be brave enough to want to change their lives.
I do not have any negative aspects about this book except for the few typing errors that I found whilst reading it.
For this reason, I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. Because of the few typing errors, I cannot give it a full rating.
I highly recommend this book to readers that lack the courage and confidence to try something new and are afraid of failure. Trust and believe that you have a purpose, it might not be the same as Chris Longos’, but it might be even better. I also want to implore all veterans that come across this book to have a go at it. It might be of assistance in one way or the other.
