Donny Miller is a five-year-old boy who suffers from Down syndrome. Donny went to the zoo for sightseeing with his parents and ten-year-old sister Mary Grace. Donny got lost in the zoo and his parents and sister began to panic because the zoo is not a good place for a five-year-old to get lost. After the search, Donny was found. He fell asleep in a moving tram. At the end of the chaos, the Miller family was handed four free zoo passes for their next visit.

Mr. Miller had served as the priest and rector of St James Episcopal Church for more than ten years. The school was about to start and Donny was excited. Although he was going to be put in a special class, he going to be at the same school as Mary Grace-Heartland Elementary. One fateful day, Mr. and Mrs. Miller announced to their children that they were going to Kenya for two years for missionary work and the kids will stay with their grandparents. Mary Grace was so upset but she later came around.

When the kids got to California, their grandparents enrolled them in North Elementary School where Mary Grace met Penelope Li, her classmate and new friend. Some of her classmates were not happy with her friendship with Penelope. They dropped a lot of notes on Mary Grace's desk. Are those threat notes? Who put those notes on her desk? Was Mary Grace able to play detective? Find out the answers in the book Donny and Mary Grace's Adventure by Catherine .A. Pepe.

I give the author kudos for being able to portray what happened to her in a fictional way. I also loved Donny's character. Even though he had Down Syndrome, nothing stopped him from being happy. He did not hold grudges when he was bullied in school. Even though I do not encourage bullying for one bit.

This book will help change a lot of stereotypes and correct the stigma surrounding people with disabilities. They should be treated as humans. I did not find any negativity about this book. I would rate it 5 out of 5 stars.

I recommend it for children and youths as it will change their mindset on sensitive issues.
