Man Mission by Eytan Uliel is the story of four like-minded men who seek pleasure through adventures. These are men who listen to the voices deep inside their heads that say they need more to life than the normal routines for job and family that a man lives his entire life. They needed an escape to be who they wanted to be, do what they wanted to do, and be as careless as they could. The four men went on fifteen annual adventures at different places around the world: kayaking, hiking, trekking, paddling, ice climbing, and anything hard and dangerous they could think of, which aligned with Man Mission Rule No. 3 that says "go beyond your limits." During their annual adventures, they sustain injuries and accidents, but they remain unflinchingly persistent and determined.

As time goes on, these free-spirited, adventurous men start going through phases of life, from being single to getting married and having children, and with that come struggles to deal with the ups and downs of family life and a never-ending job, dying relationships with spouses, strenuous provision and care for children, collapsed businesses, temptations, and confusions, but they still tried to keep their carriers, families, and mental and physical health intact while still exploring their adventurous nature through an annual get-away they call Man Mission, despite the seemingly impossible coexistence of the two. Will they continue their mission despite all odds? And will they eventually be able to keep their marriages and carriers after all the sacrifices they have made to keep them?

The first and most captivating thing I like about this book is the vital statistics at the end of each chapter; they keep me fully aware of what I read before proceeding. Another thing I like about this book is the author's ability to show each character's unique attitude and capabilities. Like Daniel, the ever-planner, the protagonist whines the most, with Alec being spontaneous and carefree and Sam being the stiff type.

The descriptions of places and events are great, my favorite being that of Iceland, where Eytan Uliel says, "Everything in Iceland seemed upside down. Steaks were made of whale and burgers of puffin. Beaches were black, and mountains were white. Rivers were made of ice, and steam rose from the earth. Glaciers and lava coexisted, side by side in harmony, oftentimes even one on top of the other." The structure and language style of the book were logical and organized, which made the book easy to understand. The ending of the book taught me an important lesson: peace and pleasure also come from family and friends. We just have to be loving, patient, and appreciative; only then can we find the happiness we seek.

Even though the book is about adventures, I still feel like it would have been more interesting if the story had additional details about the individuals' private lives, because while reading, I felt like the narration of their personal lives was shortened to the adventurous part. These negative aspect is not enough for me to remove a star, so I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because it reveals men's thoughts that they never say. And in the book, the protagonist was both a sinner and a saint, which is the reality of life. The book was professionally edited, and only a very few errors were found.

I recommend this book to people who love adventure and people who have friends and families, so as to learn from the important lessons of this book that deal with relationships, sacrifices, strengths, and weaknesses.
