I am giving the book Snatched Up to Heaven for Kids a 3/5. I was taken back by how long the book was, for a children's book I cant imagine sitting with my child and reading them a 33 page book. I did, however, like the message that when teaching children about religion, it's good to understand how this will affect a child's imagination and therefore be represented in their dreams. I applaud the author for taking this opportunity to speak about the parent/child dynamic and make the parents have a positive outlook on the children's dreams.

I really enjoyed the pictures in this book. The pictures were well drawn and full of color, which is very appealing to children and those reading to them. The pictures went well with the message and story.

For someone like myself who is not religious, I find it interesting that the use of Hell in children's books is okay. I understand through talking to more religious people that it is in fact part of that learning process and it is a big part of religion. I find that the tone in this part of the book is manipulative, telling kids if they do not do as God wants or as they are told, they will go to Hell where people are naked and burning. I find that part in this book very distasteful, but again, as someone that is not religious, I understand we all have different views and those who are religious might accept this and not be as turned off to it as I am.

Overall, I enjoyed the book apart from the length and the use of cruel forms of manipulation on children. I give this book a 3/5 and I encourage people of a more religious background to read it and review it as well!
