Always Strive to Be a Better You by Pete Hall is a self-help book that offers thirteen important lessons for people who aspire to live an extraordinary life. The book presents the stories of seven ordinary people who lived extraordinary lives and provides four fundamental principles that readers can use to achieve a virtuous life. Hall encourages readers to examine themselves and identify areas for improvement by asking important questions.

One of my favorite parts of the book is that it doesn’t focus on exceptional individuals. You won’t read about athletes like Michael Phelps or leaders like Barack Obama. Instead, you’ll get to know seven ordinary individuals with extraordinary characteristics that helped them live a better life. Hall even uses himself as an example throughout the book, making him more credible when giving advice. By using everyday individuals as case studies, the book becomes relatable to readers. The book also includes sketches of these individuals, which help readers visualize the people as they read their stories.

While the book doesn’t provide revolutionary advice, it presents practical principles and values that can be applied in daily life. It is a call to action that encourages readers to take the next steps toward achieving their goals and making positive changes in their lives. Even better, the book provides guided questions that will help readers look within themselves and find areas in their life that need improvement.

Based on the reasons above, I give Always Strive to Be a Better You a 5 out of 5 stars. The book provides a practical and actionable approach to self-improvement, written in a simple, light-hearted, and relatable style. The book is also professionally edited, providing sketches of the individuals in the case studies to give readers a good visual aid. The book is an excellent pick for anyone who aspires to live an extraordinary life and is looking for practical and actionable self-improvement advice.
