Intended for Christian families, this is a way to introduce the concepts of Heaven and Hell to children. As a Christian, I found the message compelling, however, the story lacked relatability. Much of the events occur in a dream. Much is told rather than shown. I am told Emma and Bella live in a neighborhood much like mine but not given physical details of the neighborhood. I would read this story to my children because I want to introduce the concepts. I do not think it will be a story that will be memorable since most of the concepts are told in the abstract rather than with concrete details. The Bible references are helpful. The book is well-written grammatically-speaking. The pictures are the best part; they are bright with color. The scenes depicted tell the story very well all on their own. Overall, I rate this book a 3 out of 5. I do think a parent has to read this book with their child(ren) in order to explain the hard concepts.
