Written by Dorothy May Mercer and read by Scott Ellis, Cynthia and Dan is a romantic science fiction drama. In the book, the risks associated with technology misuse and the security risks it presents are discussed. Humans should use technology because they made it. There is always a perverse method to using any good tool that has been developed, though. For science, the same is true. Humans have the potential to misuse information to endanger the safety of others in the community. Cyberbullying, malware, and espionage are examples of problems that arise here.

Although it could exist alone as a story, the tale is a component of the McBride series. A young woman called Cynthia Patterson, an undercover operative who serves as Senator Mike McBride's chief security officer, is featured in the story. The senator's covert security officer was Cynthia, who appeared to the outside world to be the senator's secretary. She excels in her position because she has an aptitude for it and loves what she does. She has set out on a quest to end the nation's ongoing cyberwar with the help of her brother, Glenn. To get assistance, they went to Tim and Garth, two other industry experts.

Cynthia is involved in a love triangle with her partner Dan McIntyre and her new companion Sky Eastman while the operation is taking place. She had been with Dan for a very long time, but their romance seemed to have lost its spark. With Sky, she was able to discover what she couldn't do with Dan. What would she do if she found out she was pregnant and Sky was the parent? What would happen to the current operation and her job?

I appreciated Scott Ellis' lovely narration of the novel. Through appropriate tone, comedy, and character portrayal, the narrator did a fantastic job of interpreting the novel. It is admirable that he correctly depicted each character with his voice. The author's discussion of cyber conflict and potential remedies pleased me because it is a current, urgent issue. The blending of the protagonist's personal and work lives is another accomplishment worth praising. The ability to succeed in your work life despite your problems is what the author was able to manage between both. Despite the turmoil she was feeling inside, Cynthia was able to perform her responsibilities to some degree.

I dislike nothing about this book. The book discusses non-technical problems such as abortion, unintended pregnancy, the results of illicit intimacy, and the impact of everyday personal decisions on people, which I love.

I gave this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars because, in my opinion, the book was well-detailed and it appealed to my technical side. The book was exceptionally well-edited and error-free. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in scientific and romantic fiction as well as cyber security specialists, technology lovers, and enthusiasts.
