The book, The Three Heavens by Paul Hitchiner is a work of Christian literature that seeks to open a new view to the question of salvation and provide fresh insight into some interpretations of the New Testament gospel. This book explains what it means to be truly saved and worthy of eternal life. The author also delves into the true scope of love, forgiveness, and many other Bible virtues in one’s salvation. This book also talks about the purpose of the law and the true work of grace. The qualifications for admission into heaven (or hell) and the true concept of being born again are some of the topics covered by the author.

I like how the author dealt with the main points in the first few chapters, which then gave him room to expand on these points in the other chapters. Even though the author does a lot of explanation of the scriptures to buttress his points, he still tries as much as possible to keep it short and simple. I also like how confident he is about his point of view and his criticisms of popular views, with Bible references to back them up. Lastly, I like the author’s view on true repentance and how it can be attained.

There are just a few things I didn’t like about this book. Firstly, I didn’t like that most of his thoughts didn’t really support popular belief (in the Christian faith). This made me feel like the author just intentionally wanted to be controversial, even though he explained his points as clearly as possible. I am of the opinion that having a different point of view from the popular belief does not mean your own view should become a doctrine. I also found out that the author does, in some cases, a lot of logical explanation of the scriptures, but, as most people would tell you, the Christian faith is not exactly a faith founded on logic.

I rate this book 3 out of 5 stars. This is because the content of the book is great, but the ideologies being presented by the author could have been presented in a better and more detailed manner. Especially the ones presented in the first few chapters. The book was well edited, but I noticed a few grammatical errors while reading it.

I recommend this book to mostly Christian readers who would like to expand their understanding of some New Testament scriptures and also broaden their personal concepts of salvation. I also recommend it to readers who would love to broaden their knowledge about some religious concepts and virtues.
