A Dream for Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah is a captivating account of his life as a freedom fighter in Algeria. The author grew up in Algeria when France colonized the country. He had only his mother and sisters by his side, and being the only son, his education was prioritized. His mother wanted him to become a doctor, so he went to France for a medical program. There he meets young men who are also keen on fighting for their country's independence, just like the author.

With time, they form groups and do everything it takes to challenge the colonizers, reform the government, and gain independence. He got into trouble several times and even landed in prison. Things changed, and he went on to pursue his dream. I encourage you to follow Ghoulem Berrah's story as he transitions from being a top medical researcher to being the special advisor to a powerful president.

The book explores the themes of freedom, patience, relationships, love, and friendship. Berrah's selfless quest for peace is revealed through his journey to France to further his education and bring freedom to his country. The book vividly portrays the outcomes and turmoil he encountered in his pursuit of freedom, as well as the ups and downs he faced in his relationship before getting married.

I loved how he defended his love despite the difficult circumstances and showed his unflinching love and loyalty to his partner. Not just that, he was a selfless person, always thinking about others before himself; he was an ambassador for peace, and he had a deep respect for other cultures and religions.

Berrah's writing style is engaging and easy to comprehend. The sentences were interesting to read and very descriptive. The memoir provides detailed background information on his life. I couldn't help but wonder how he was able to recall some of the events in this book. The book is also filled with pictures to support the story, which adds to the enjoyment of the book. From his childhood in Algeria to his stays in France and America, the memoir was fun to read. The book was exceptionally edited, as I found no errors while reading.

Although the length of this book might be a turn-off, it was the only thing I didn't like.

This is an insightful and well-written memoir that gives a summary of the life of a great man. I rate it 5 out of 5 stars. It was almost flawless, so I can give it a great rating.

I recommend this book to anyone interested in reading memoirs and biographies.
