Michael Tieman's excellent book, Killing Abel, has a lot of impact on the reader. Although it is based on the Bible, the author's imagination and impossible-to-pay-attention details fill in all the blanks. No matter how often I hear or read the story of Adam and Eve, it is never boring or predictable and always interesting. No matter if they have read the Bible or not, I believe everyone is familiar with Adam and Eve and the basic story of the forbidden fruit.

Following the facts from the Bible and maintaining the fundamental character of the characters, the author described everything from the creation of the world to Noah in a very beautiful and simple manner. The way Adam and Eve learned about emotions, guilt, togetherness, and the basics of marriage between a man and a woman after leaving the Garden of Eden is particularly well described. They demonstrate through their conduct on a daily basis the value of love and repentance as cures for sin. I also like the moment of clarity at the end, where actrors admit that one should be thankful for everything, good and bad, because God knows why everything happens. Everyone can sin or succumb to temptation, but that should not be used as an excuse to turn away from God. That is the lesson that is always being learned. Adam and Eve discovered patience and acceptance of God's will, especially in their desire to have a son. Read Killing Abel to learn how they overcame every obstacle in this tale.

In addition, I appreciate how the author specifically portrays God as a loving father, the holy trinity, consisting of the father, the son, and the holy spirit. While it's possible that some Christians won't enjoy the author's imaginative fiction, there is nothing I did not like. Even though it is now illegal and considered incest, the practice of brothers and sisters getting married is an unpleasant reality that, in those days, I don't think there was any way around.

The book Killing Abel is lengthy and detailed, but it is equally interesting at every turn. I found myself in some situations and related to the characters. I would recommend it to anyone, even atheists, to read. It is beautifully done, with only a few errors. Although the sexual scenes are not explicit, the relationship between a man and a woman is shown to be essential for the birth of children and the act of birth itself. Vulgar words are used minimally, and everything is nicely packaged and arranged for the reader's convenience.

Regardless, Killing Abel deserves the highest rating, and I believe that I will think about what I read and learned from it for a long time, particularly about the relationship between a man and a woman, as well as the relationship between brothers. Although some violent scenes are shown, this does not diminish the value of the book, which I rate 5 out of 5 stars. Congratulations to the author.
