Reconfigurement is an educational and financial self-help book written by E. Alan Fleischauer, who has been a financial advisor for over twenty years. The book talks about how important it is to plan financially for our future at any stage. Planning ahead is all about making decisions and taking action to create the future we want. The book provides retirement strategies that go beyond traditional investment-asset-focused financial planning.

For every working person, retirement is inevitable, and it will be wise to have a solid financial plan for living comfortably in the future. Reconfigurement financial planning is a concept created by the author that involves focusing on a career you love and planning years before retirement and even after retirement. Since financial planning involves a step-by-step strategy to help achieve our life goals, we need a solid financial plan. This book serves as a guide to that financial plan and to controlling one's expenses, income, and investments before and after retirement to provide a comfortable future. It also answers some complex and challenging questions that might arise during reconfigurement financial planning.

I observed that the book has a table of contents with thirteen chapters but no pagination. It has some diagrams that the reader will find helpful. The diagrams are a better illustration of the information in the book. Some of the pages in the book contain quotes and jokes.

I like the quotes used in the book. The quotes are important to reinforce the writer's ideas to the readers. He tells fictional and non-fictional stories about financial plans and investments. This is to explain his points better to the readers. I like the author's use of humor to break the boredom that the financial topic might bring and arouse the interest of the readers. I liked how the book was educational and how the author provided a series of assessments with website links that determine which career options an individual should pursue based on his or her personality strengths. Although I might be far from retirement, this book gave me insights into life after retirement and clues on how to plan ahead before that time.

What I disliked about the book was that the writer didn't make use of numbers or bullet points to state his points clearly. Rather, they were all clustered in the book. This might make it difficult for the reader to pick them out clearly. Also, I don't like that the financial terms used in the book might be too complex or challenging for readers unfamiliar with financial terminology.

I found a few errors in the book, but they did not impede my reading progress. Therefore, I rate Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend this book to readers interested in financial books on retirement, including working-class people who are getting closer to retirement and those who are already retired.
