The book A Dream For Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah, is a true life story of Dr. Ghoulem Berrah. Just like the title of the book, Dr. Ghoulem Berrah envisioned bringing peace to his people and possibly to the world. His Excellency, Dr. Ghoulem Berrah as people called him, was an African independent activist. Dr. Ghoulem Berrah aimed at bringing mutual respect between Christians and Muslims, which he portrayed as a Muslim by marrying a Christian wife. As a diplomat, Dr. Ghoulem Berrah faced the turmoil of political discourse head-on and challenged the status quo to embrace the next practices. When Dr. Berrah as a young man, left the shores of his native country Algeria, to embark on studies in France, his heart was heavy, but his mind was set to return soon to help liberate his country from French colonial rule. As an indisputable gentleman, he sustained a sense of purpose from boyhood to becoming a scientist, and then a national diplomat.

The positive aspect of the book is that the book was professionally edited. The figures of speech and the author's use of easy-to-comprehend words were well blended. The addition of a table of contents which contains the chapters and their page numbers makes the book more appealing to me. Though the book is voluminous, the author used unique writing and storytelling skill that got me glued to the book. I enjoyed every aspect of the book, and I was highly impressed by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah's ability to remember all the major events that happened in his life and was able to document them. There is so much for us to learn from this book. I look forward to reading other memoirs of the author.

There is no negative aspect of the book. The book A Dream For Peace was professionally edited, well-structured, and logical. The book was worth my reading.

Given that the book was professionally edited, well structured, and logical, I rate the book A Dream For Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah a perfect 5 out of 5 stars.

Reading Africa's history is something I have always wanted to do, and this book gave me that perfect opportunity to experience the history of Africa's independence. There wasn't a single thing about the book that I didn't enjoy. I recommend this book A Dream For Peace by Dr. Ghoulem Berrah to anyone who loves politics, and Africa's history. Especially to students of history. I also recommend it to people interested in colonialism and racism.
