Review of Murder in the Garbage
Murder in the Garbage by Jerry A. Greenberg is a thriller story. The plot has many characters. Some of the main characters are, Raoul Martez(Assistant in Waste Truck), Hubert Manton(Driver of waste trucks), Henry Leon(Hank) Boucher (Ex-Navy Seal Guard, CIA Officer), James Ballas (Chicago mob’s enforcer), Harry Crutcher(Neighourbhood Security Guard), James Andover(Detective), Captain Lawrence(Weapons Dept at Lackland airbase ), Lenny Samuels (vice President Operations of Triangle Waste Management)and Janet Thornton (Wife of Charles Thornton, CEO of Triangle Waste Management).
The story thickens when some missiles were found missing from an Airbase in America, and, the immediate concern being, was to find out the whereabouts of the missile, and stop it from being shipped out of the country.
Also, to find out who were the people wanting to buy the missile and why they want to buy high-tech missiles.
The story depicts how greed for money, and, wanting to have some cheap thrill in life, can lead to dangerous situations. Further, it also shows the extent to which people can descend to become rich overnight, putting all they have to risk.
The story also brings to light, how in the mafia world, nobody is a friend of anybody and everybody is busy trying to take care of their own interests. Also, it is brought out in the story, how the best-laid plans, can go wrong, with disastrous consequences, like, loss of life.
The story has a very good start when it begins with the introduction of, the main characters of the book, Leon(Hank) Boucher (Ex Navy Seal Guard CIA Officer) and Raoul Martez(Assistant in Waste Truck). The handling of the beginning of a romance between Raoul Martez, and, Linda Bailey is done well and helps to lighten the mood of the story.
The one main negative I found is that, midway through the book, the author deviates from the normal way how the story was
being told, which confused me, and I think, this can be quite confusing for the readers also.
Further, the manner in which the additional characters were introduced, was different from the way characters are normally developed in a novel and can make it difficult for the readers to keep track of the story.
Overall the story has been dealt in an interesting way, but due to the above negative point, with regard to the introduction of new characters, I give the book, 3 out of 4.
I did not find any use of profanity, in the book. This book does have a few spelling errors and typing mistakes.
The language employed is simple, with almost no jargon. Hence I give the book 4 out of 5
I would like to recommend the book specifically for people who like action novels
