Review of The Magician's Secret
The Magician’s Secret by Charles Townsend is a Sci-Fi/Fantasy novel that talks about magic, mystery, tricks, friendship, war, pain, and secrets. This book contains thirty-six chapters. The author is a member of The Magic Circle and particularly enjoys inventing new magic tricks. He lives with his wife Hayley in a historic house in old Harwich and has five children.
Delvin Is a magician who left his hometown with his friend Greg to source for livelihood. Delvin got arrested by the duke of Hengel. He escaped with princess Jarla the duke’s daughter and princess Fionella the duke of Argent’s daughter. They decided to embark on a journey from Hegel to Argent to help stop the war and resolve all misunderstandings between Hengel and Argent. While on this Journey, they discovered so many lies, secrets, and challenges that they weren't prepared for. What happened to Delvin? Was the journey worth it? Was their plan successful?
One of the positive aspects of this book is that it is interesting and captivating. The storyline is so brilliant. I was eager to know what happened next. It is a book that you don’t want to drop because of how captivating it is. This book is well-written and neatly arranged. It is also easy to understand as the words are not so strange to me. The author simplified his use of words for easy understanding and this made me flow well while reading the book. The map attached to this book made everything seem real to me. I was able to visualize what the city looks like. The roads and buildings were well-described and easy for me to understand.
Another positive aspect of this book is character development. The character development is excellent. The author tries his possible best to explain the characters in the book. The characters in the book were not so bulky and their names were easy to pronounce and remember. I liked how the author focus on the main characters in the book. This book is engaging and will keep a reader’s attention. The aspect of making an area for the reader to insert their pictures is creative. I feel the author did an excellent job with this book.
The only negative aspect of this book is the number of errors I found. Due to the errors, I found in this book, I would say the book was not professionally edited.
I rate this book three out of four stars. Although it has an interesting storyline, there were some grammatical errors, and given these flaws, it wouldn’t be fair to give it a perfect score. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys magic and Ski-Fi novels.
