Korian: Ark of the Fallen King by Giorgio Garofalo is the second book in the fantasy series.

The story takes place on the planet Endura, a dystopian world colonized by fantastical creatures of different kinds. Korian Ro, the story's protagonist, is charged with the undertaking of a prophecy and must lead and protect the people of Endura from the darkness that threatens to suppress them. While seeking out arcane relics for guidance and aid, Korian and his people are left with no other choice but to defend against the attacks of Aaron and his army of Stragoy (undead creatures that serve at Aaron's whim), as well as survive instances of ambush and betrayal. Burdened by responsibilities far beyond his imagination, Korian must wrestle against his past grief, doubt, and insecurities to save his people from the dark storm that looms (literally) over their existence. What bleak future awaits the people of Endura? There's only one way to find out.

I had a great time reading this book; it was action-packed and filled with jaw-dropping magical illustrations. The characters were rounded and unique in their own way. The author made sure each of the major characters had mysteries revealed later on about their pasts and that attributed to the building of their character arcs. I especially liked how transparent the author was with the villains of the story; they weren't just run-of-the-mill creatures of darkness, they had intentions that were clearly described, and I believe this contributed to the creation of its enjoyable storyline. Then there was the world-building, which was also commendable and a testament to the brilliant imagination of the author.

There was nothing I disliked about this book. It's one of the few books I wouldn't mind reading a second time. Despite the references to the first book (which I haven't read), I could still follow what was happening as the story progressed. However, If I had to read the book for a second time, I would read the first book before the second.

I would rate this book a solid four out of four stars. It was an exhilarating story that never seemed to have a dull moment. There were minor punctuation errors, but they didn't disrupt my reading experience. As such, I would conclude that this book was well-edited.

I would recommend this book to readers of fantasy novels. The book contains the use of some vulgar terms, including some adult scenes, which would make it more appropriate for a mature audience.
