Review of Reconfigurement
Sound financial management and retirement plan should be vital topics for everyone. This is because it will help you in financial planning and avoid running out of money in retirement. In Reconfigurement, E. Alan Fleishchauer is a financial advisor with over 20 years of experience. His writing provides concise explanations of financial concepts and retirement plans. In addition, his book presented new retirement strategies. Unlike the traditional approach, the author believed that new retirement strategies should include an action plan that actively incorporates pre- and post-retirement activities. The author focused his analysis on the American financial service industry. However, strategies written in the book are useful in other places.
Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleischauer is divided into fourteen chapters, each covering critical aspects of reconfigurement like career assessment, income, life insurance, health care plans, available software online, social security, investing, testament, budgeting, and needs for long-term care. The author showed his motivation behind writing Reconfigurment, and he believes that a person's major asset is being able to work. The book also made clear that, due to recent changes, there is a severe mismatch between reality and traditions. Thus, we need to reconfigure and change how we do things.
In Reconfigurement, the author did a fantastic job by giving a comprehensive breakdown of retirement planning. It is a well-written book that exhaustively explains necessary financial and career planning concepts. I love how the author uses a conversational tone throughout the book. For instance, each chapter has at least one joke and occasional short story, which spiced up my reading. This makes the writing style easier to read and comprehend. Another wonderful thing I like is how the author included helpful references in links that direct readers to further studies. The book is professionally edited. Unfortunately, I noticed some minor grammatical errors.
I have nothing in particular that demotivated me while reading the book. However, I think some readers might find the jokes included in some parts of the book a bit uncomfortable. However, this personally didn't obstruct my reading flow as they acted as refreshers.
I would rate Reconfigurement by E. Alan Fleishchauer 4 out of 4 stars. This is because the book is professionally edited, and I have no negative things about the book. In addition, the grammatical errors I found were minor and didn't warrant a reduction in my rating. In short, the book was an enjoyable read for me. I recommend this book to adults, especially those close to retirement age. Also, I will recommend it to young people currently working as no age is too young to reconfigure one's life.
