The Inner CEO by Jeremy Blain is a book that advises people to bring out their best selves in their workplace. The author says that only then can optimum success be achieved. For this to be achieved, an employer has to create an environment that is in alignment with the changing times, for example, in terms of technology. This means a digital transformation needs to take place.

There needs to be a change or a shift in leadership such that the leaders are made ready to first and foremost deal with the changing times and move the rest of the members in the right direction, but also for a better customer experience. The organizational culture of the workplace has to change such that the company is willing to take risks to see what works for them while maintaining focus on the customer. They also need to widen their diversity. This means that they should be open-minded enough to include all racial groups and ethnic classes.

It was a very informative book. I liked how the author built up points from examples and scenarios to bring out teachable moments. I enjoyed the author’s simplicity and his ability to ensure that the points did not drag on for a long time, but they were detailed enough to get across the message. I also liked that he used experience and examples of well-known companies and banks to add more weight to his points and also to give them validity.

I must state that I did not spot any grammatical errors in the book. This led me to believe that the book was well written and well edited. The author did a thorough job of ensuring that there were no mistakes in the book to water down or reduce the weight of the book. It also shows that the author values his audience and would present shoddy work.

For the reasons above, I give this book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars . This is because not only was the book informative and detailed, but it was also transformative and helpful. From this book, I have learned that for any business to prosper, the workers or members have to be empowered to bring out their best selves, which in the book the author says is the CEO in them. I would like to recommend this book to people who are planning or starting a business that might involve a team or workers. So that they may be equipped with the appropriate information that they may need. I would also like to recommend it to employees and team members of various companies and businesses, as I feel that they would also benefit from this book.
