Review of My life uncensored
The book My life Uncensored by Cristina Caymares is a true life story of a young girl named Cristina, who grew up with a promiscuous mother and lost her dad at a very young age.
Cristina is a young and bold child, who has lost all sense of timidity and feelings of a child in a way, because of the way she was brought up. Cristy and her sister Monica grew up in the same environment but their perspective of life were totally different. Monica felt like her mum and immediate family are a failure while she enjoyed the favors of her rich paternal uncles and aunts. Her mother was a young widow, who also has gotten hit by the bitter side of life while growing up. Adopted by her uncle and aunt, because her dad was sentenced to prison for cocaine transporting and her mom died while giving birth to her.
This book gives insight to the reader, as to what it feels like to grow without the right people around and the right guidance. The book portrays how lost and unsatisfied Cristy was. She needed to be loved but her mother taught her that it is weak to show her feelings. She tried to be strong on the outside but within she had a soft spot and imaginary role for every of her loved ones.
I recommend this book to every young person and also it is a must read for every parent. There is every chance that as children, we would commit the same mistakes our parents made while growing up. Therefore, this book will help shape our minds and give us the opportunity to see things like this differently. I also recommend this book to victims like Cristy, it would help them see life differently. Time and chance happens to everyone in this world but allowing things impact your life negatively is a choice, just as Cristy has dedicated her life to work with young girls that has passed through this ordeal and give them the opportunity to choose a good life and not depend on their past. So, would the minds of any victim who reads this book be renewed.
In conclusion, there is actually nothing I dislike about this book. The language is simple and appropriate, and due to the book's exceptional editing and narration, I didn't find a single error in it. The story is intriguing, and its message would inspire victims of such ordeal to believe in a good life. Therefore, I am glad to rate My life Uncensored a well-deserved four out of four stars. I especially recommend the book to young girls between the age of thirteen and twenty-four and, without doubt, believe that it would be a fascinating experience for them.
