Thomas L. Grady's Let it Be is a book which he calls "The Sacred Bible for Survival" in the current situation of global warming and possible human extinction due to climate change. He brings out Green Industrial idealism, where human advancement is achieved by moving away from the world's fossil fuel addiction to Industrial Hemp agriculture, manufacturing and processing.
He talks about the American capitalism being a ponzi scheme which has failed, and has to be replaced by sustainable capitalism coupled with takedown economics.Sustainable capitalism is anchored on the premise that there is a limit to growth and resources because the Earth is a closed system. Therefore, there has to be population control, environmental safety and zero-carbon targets met before any expansion occurs. In order to achieve this, the world needs to shift from fossil fuels energy foundation to green Industrial Hemp fibre to replace all 6000 oil by-products.Electric vehicles to replace gasoline vehicles and then add other sources of energy like wind and solar. He says this is what will make humanity to survive on earth.
Thomas L. Grady in his book talks about the global warming thermostat, which warns humanity if we are about to to reach the 1.5 degrees temperature rise limit. This is great. He also brings about hempcrete to replace concrete technology widely used worldwide currently for infrastructure buildings. This is expected to reduce carbon emissions. This will bring about "green" cities. He also says industrial hemp products can replace livestock products. This can reduce livestock production which contributes to global warming via methane produced by livestock. He also calls for a Women's march to support the Indstrial Hemp revolution to save humanity on Earth.
On other hand,he says the Earth can only support 2 billion people without providing empirical evidence. It is important when coming up with figures, they have to be supported by facts. There are are some typographic errors. Therefore I would rate this book 3 out 4 stars.
I recommend this book to people who are feeling the effects of climate change.Technology enthusiasts will enjoy this book as well.Caution, there is profane language used in the book as well.
