Dark Matter Empire (Book 1), written by Alex Zadeh, is one of those science fiction books that keeps you turning the pages. The book's main character, Ryan Stathis, is just a thirty-year-old aeronautical engineer who specializes in computer science. Ryan was looking forward to going home to his wife after another long evening at work. This was not to be, as he was abducted from the entrance to his workplace by an alien space ship drawn to Earth by signals sent out by an electronic hardware device manufactured by Ryan's company.

Ryan was forced to take up command of the space ship, and the task of saving planet Earth from an alien invasion was placed on his shoulders. Along the way, Ryan’s dream was to return home to his family, but he knows if he fails the mission that was imposed on him, there will be no wife to go home to. Hence, he proceeded on this perilous journey, defeating enemies as he went along.

Dark Matter Empire (Book 1) captures the elements, which allows your imagination to soar while you read. One of the positive aspects of this book is that the language is comprehendible. This makes it very easy to evoke images of the characters. The author, Alex Zadeh, made sure the descriptions were on point, the scenery could be conceptualized, and one could feel the passion being put into this book. The author did a magnificent job. His skills in creativity were shown throughout the book. It was very intriguing how he was able to weave each character and make them come to life from the pages. Lovers of science fiction will love this book as it keeps you on your toes and your imagination running. Each page only wets your appetite for the next.

The negative aspect of this book for me was the use of obscene words.

I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. It is a very good read. The plot is well executed, and the editing was nicely done. I would recommend it to other age-appropriate readers. The only fault I find are the expletives that are used by the characters. It would have been lovely if it was a clean book, as I would have loved to pass it on to my kids. They would lap it up, as this book is right down their alley.

If you have a great imagination and don’t mind the curse words, grab yourself a copy and get wrapped up to follow Ryan on his journey. I am looking forward to reading book number two to see what happens next.
