Gun control is a huge hot button in our society and in the news almost everyday. The book follows many different characters and their views on many different issues currently in our world. Vince and his wife Trudi are the main characters, they are retirees trying to live their best life and enjoy the new found retirement. When Vince is attacked at the mall he is very emasculated and leaves him wondering how society has gotten here. The couple have many friends from different backgrounds as well as ethnicities and they all come together to share their views and beliefs as enjoy each others company. Gun issues are very sensitive to people, their right to bear arms, gun control and safety. The book also gives a very enlightening view on technology and health monitors along with how far we have progressed.

Positive aspects about Mr. Van Fleisher's book includes attention to the hot topics going on with gun issues in the world right now along with technology and immigration. I enjoyed the depth he went into with his research and giving a detailed account of the watch/health monitor. With the monitor it really made you stop think how you would live out your remaining days knowing exactly how long you had. Would you settle all the scores you had or just stop and live every moment you had to the fullest. Mr. Fleisher gave a multitude of opinions all from very different individuals with very different background and lives.

I did not find any negative aspects about the novel. I enjoyed it throughly from open to close. From page one I was invested in his main characters Vince and Trudi and how their story where their story was headed. I enjoyed learning about the gun laws and California's gun control. I was shocked to read about the way senate works, I had an idea but not that they take bribes in the form of contributions or donations that is appalling the way laws and issues are passed.

I proudly rate Final Notice a 4 out of 4 stars [/b]. This novel is both captivating and educational. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a good read that will entrance them as well as get them to thinking about their own views and feelings. I would not recommend this book to high school or middle schoolers, I feel it is a little much for them with all of the gun issues going on in the world. Definitely a must read for anyone with an open mind willing to see all sides of a subject.
