Review of Building A Coaching Culture
Building A Coaching Culture by Andreas Von Der Heydt details how to effectively implement coaching within an organization. The author provides details of research he conducted that serves as a basis for establishing a coaching culture within an organization. The author notes that managers support results-oriented coaching which positively impacts the company's profits. Employees want to work for companies where they can benefit themselves now and in the future. The author also notes that a successful coaching program improves the effectiveness and efficiency of managers and employees. The coaching culture is supported by managers using a variety of teaching methods. Coaching can be done formally or informally. The author also differentiates leaders from managers and coaching is differentiated from training. Organizations are faced with an ever-changing external environment and can adapt by including coaching as a part of their onboarding process.
There were many positive aspects of this book. Firstly, the author surveyed new employees in different phases. I liked that author also got feedback about his attitude and decisions during the research to be as objective as possible. I liked that the author used a qualitative approach based on the topic that was researched. I like that author differentiated coaching from other onboarding methods like training. The research did a good job of providing a framework for establishing a coaching program within an organization. I liked the author tried to enhance his understanding of the employees by using the inside-outside approach. I liked that he shared some of his findings with the participants. I think this was an inclusive approach. I really liked literature reviews that were apart of the research. I found that they provided clarity and context for the research that was conducted. I liked how the findings were communicated. I like the clarity and the precision to the author's expressions. I also liked the topic of coaching as it is relevant in today's dynamic working culture where expectations and demands are high and organizations need to be relevant and competitive in many instances.
There were no notable negatives for me. I gave the book a rating of 4 out of 4. I gave this rating because book was educative and well written. I did not find any grammatical or spelling errors. The book was exceptionally edited as I found no errors.
This book should appeal to people interested in the professional and personal development of employees. Managers may find this book interesting to read because of its up-to-date content. People conducting qualitative researches may find this to be an excellent resource as this was the approach that the author utilized.

My attention was drawn to the fact that the author also takes into account the opinion of those interviewed about him to improve the program that he is developing, I thought it was very good. In addition, it can be helpful for personnel management and achievement of expectations.
I would like to continue reading research like this.
