Review of Dark Matter Empire (Book 1)
Alex Zadeh created an ultimate work of imagination and science-fiction all from modern day scratch without compromising the science of the world as we know it. Instead, he innocently expanded it.
Ryan Stathis is just your regular aeronautical engineer with computer emphasis tasked with programming a new military jet for the Air Force. He lost track of time one night and ended up staying till midnight in the simulator room until Mike, his colleague notified him. Then the absolutely unexpected happened when he noticed an UFO hovering above ground. Despite his better judgment, he moved closer and one thing led to the next. The next time Ryan opened his eyes, he is sitting in an alien spaceship several million miles from Earth. Ryan was quick to be told his purpose on the ship and that he could just be the only thing standing between a typical military device, the alterum, and a dominant race of aliens on the other side of the galaxy. And it so happened that this device could be the key to the subjugation of Earth. Ryan decided it best to follow the ship's advise and try to get the device to the resistance. After entering the wormhole, it didn't take long before he came in contact with empire ships and he was captured. Luckily and with help from an apelike alien and a robot alien, Ryan escaped with an escape pod and landed on Yenovia. There they enlisted the help of friendly scholars in evading the empire. But when everything goes off-course, and the empire got hold of the alterum, Ryan is all Earth has left. But what could one man possibly do against an army to protect his planet from the knowledge of power hungry aliens? Or would he get his own army?
I must commend this book for the intriguing and blood pumping experience it entailed. Alex did a really great job bringing forth this magnificent story. Even being the first in its series, I could only imagine how much more excitement to expect. Is it the characters? Or the scenarios? Or is it Ryan's adventure itself that would fail to intrigue? I don't think so. I have read a lot of stories like this, and I must say, Dark Matter is one of the best.
Regretfully, a three out of four stars is all I am giving the book. Yes, I did find a couple of typos, but they were not distracting enough to influence its rating. But the error that really got me hinged is the Earth-like expressions made by so-called aliens in the story. My point being how could aliens who have never been to Earth, or even heard of it say things just the way Earthlings do. This really flawed the flow of the illusion Alex was creating.
However, this is a good science-fiction book for science-fiction enthusiasts of all ages (who can understand the wording of course). It is erotic, religious, and politically free for all.
