Review of Fear Not, Dream Big, & Execute
Fear Not, Dream Big, & Execute by Jeff Meyer is a Christian, motivational, and self-help book written for those who need to find and execute their God-given dream. Many people are scared to dream big. Others are scared of putting in the work to execute their dreams. In this book, Meyer provides readers with a framework to discover their dreams, and he encourages them to overcome their fears and pursue their dreams with religious fervor.
Meyer divides the book into two parts. The first part is "Dream Sparks", and it focuses on discovering your dream. The second part is "Realization Strategies", and it talks about realizing that dream. Each part is broken down into lessons that can be followed in a non-sequential order. This allows the reader to start from any part of the book based on their personal preference. Staying true to the lesson format, each chapter ends with a "Try This" segment, which contains some thought-provoking questions for readers to ask themselves, and it also gives instructions on activities that the reader can carry out, based on the lesson taught in that chapter.
Meyers, who happens to be a Christian pastor, blends his personal experience as a leader with scripture and Biblical principles to explain how our dreams are God-given and how we can go about achieving them. Each chapter contains scriptural references which are relevant to the lesson being taught to better help the reader understand the lessons. The references in this book served as a guide, and I found them helpful. The lessons in the book are very practical, and I found myself carrying them out as I read this book. I do not doubt that I will be reading this book again. Adding his life experiences to this book made it more relatable for me. I like that he recounted his unimpressive actions. This book can serve as a guide for executing big dreams, as the lessons in this book can help anyone struggling to turn their dreams into a reality.
I enjoyed the "Try This" part of the book because it help me put the book's lessons into practice in my life, especially the chapter that talked about procrastination, which is something I struggle with. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. There was nothing I disliked about it. It was well written, and the average reader can easily understand it. It is also perfectly edited, as I did not encounter errors while reading this book.
Even though this book contains valuable lessons, I believe the religious undertone makes it more suitable for Christians. In conclusion, I recommend this book to those in the church ministry. People in leadership positions and regular church workers should benefit from reading this book. I recommend this book to people who are scared of dreaming or executing their dreams.
