The book BUILDNING A COACHING CULTURE by Andreas Von Der Heydt focuses on professionals. It talks about the need for excellence at the work front. This excellence is possible through the ability of the employer to multiply himself and his vision into his employees. A successful business owner isn’t one who has all the money in the world, but one who is able to replicate his success into multiple beings; in such a way that each one stands as a competent representative of the brand.

The book emphasizes on the need for organizations to include professional coaching as part of their business structure because, whoever is employed should be trained. This training yields better result in the long run.

Andreas emphasizes with proven research that employees who are coached better outperform those who aren’t. Therefore, a business-minded employer should not see professional training as a waste of financial resources but a means of getting the best work input from their employee and by extension to their business.

BUILDING A COACHING CULTURE is a precise book, I love the fact that the author didn’t have to over repeat points in other to achieve multiple pages. Also, according to the author “it’s not all about money; it’s about personal and professional growth in the first place”. This tells us the mindset of the author and how he wants to make employers embrace mentorship and guidance for new employees a necessity for brand growth; this to me is the true meaning of living a fulfilled life.

Furthermore, I appreciate the authors’ emphasis on effective leadership. For instance, when he said “…certainly, it can be argued that leaders are in a particular way the products of their time, context, followers, opportunities and risks”. This made absolute sense to me because; one cannot be a great leader without taking the risk to invest in their employees by inculcating coaching as part of the big plan.

The professional approach of the books content makes it difficult to hate anything about the book. However, I would suggest that in subsequent publications, certain words should find a suitable synonym in other to avoid excessive usage.

I most confidently would rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars because, the author was able to drive home his point and years of experience with precision. The book was also properly edited.

This book is highly recommended for professionals and anyone who wants to go into a business that involves people. Organizations flourish when there is proper structure and that structure should include professional coaching.
