Review of The Intelligence Factor
Most of the time, we tend to back off from things because we don't have good background knowledge about them. The Intelligence Factor by Erik Fisher is a book that gives you a detailed description of what it takes to be a successful salesman. To be successful in sales, you don't need to work as hard as most people make it look; instead, you have to work smart and learn from others too.
Just like every successful person out there, Erik had his dilemmas too. However, he wanted to stand out from the rest, and to do this, he had to learn from the best. After dropping out of college, he got a job at a telemarketing company, selling customers long-distance phone lines. He felt this was what being a salesperson was all about. This was among the factors that made him consider pursuing a career as a salesperson. Being a salesperson is one career that will mould you into the person you wish to become. To become successful, you have to do away with some habits and create new ones, and these were all mentioned in this book. Some laid-out rules will turn you into a successful salesperson in this book if you follow them.
This book changed my perspective on sales. Before reading this book, I always thought that sales were just selling, but reading this book helped me understand what a career in sales looks like. There was a lot to learn from this book, both educationally and inspirationally. Not only did the author list factors that could hinder one from being a successful salesperson, but he also went on to explain how we could deal with these issues. I liked it when the author talked about how our aim of making money could be a good reason why we want to make a difference. At first, he aimed to make his parents understand that he could make his own money, but with time, the reason changed to him being able to provide for his family.
Everything in this book was well done. There was nothing to dislike in this book. In this book, you will learn about the power of why, how to deal with fears, how to interact better with your customers, and a whole lot more. At first, I was sceptical about this book because I felt like I wouldn't have anything to sell. However, after reading this book, I must say that salespeople are more than what people think they are.
I'm giving this book 4 out of 4 stars. I did not come across any errors. It was exceptionally well-edited. I would recommend it to people who are considering a career in sales.
