Two different people from opposite sides of the globe come together for the benefit of the greater good. Can they beat the clock? Will their homes ever be the same again? Lara and Uri use their specific expertise on an exciting journey against time. Despite their differences, they each have a common goal and rise to the challenge.

A mature-age novel, Jack Winnick's East Wind tells the story of Uri, an Arabic-speaking agent in Israel's Metsada, and Lara, an agent in the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Counter-Terrorism Unit. On a mission of borrowed time and a common enemy, both Uri and Lara use their individual skills to overcome the odds. Will they be enough in this game of chess or with they get check mate? Which way will the wind blow?

There are many positive aspects of the book, however, two that are worth mentioning specifically. First, Jack Winnick used his own experience as a professor at Georgia Tech in the Chemical and Nuclear Engineering program to incorporate a piece of himself within the novel. Although fiction, the author uses vivid detail to engage readers. This aspect of such descriptive detail makes one feel as though they are in these places with these difficult tasks at hand.

There was nothing negative found within East Wind aside from some minor violence depicted during specific scenes. Only one incidence of sexual content occurred in one chapter but was minimal and within good taste. As typical mature-natured storytelling does, there were less than five profane words used within the content. Overall, I don't feel the violence, sexual content, or profanity used should constitute as negativity towards the book as there was so little of it. The book isn't recommended for children of any age.

As a book based after September 11, 2001, the good guys turn fear into determination to beat the bad guys in all their destruction. East Wind is perfectly executed to keep readers wanting to know what happens next. Borders will be crossed. Trust will be tested and broken. This book has no grammatical errors as it has been professionally edited. East Wind rightfully gets 4 out of 4 stars as it rightfully deserves. There is nothing negative to be said about it. Action and military enthusiasts won't be disappointed and won't want to put it down.
