Review of The Illusion of Superiority
The Illusion of Superiority is an awesome and fantastic book where the author talks about the unseen entities reffering to spirits and the Illusion humanity has on Superiority. The author takes us through some of his life passions like photojournalism which led him to see the world differently from what he perceived it to be.This passion also led him to meet people from different cultures and backgrounds and get to know indeepth their lives and spirituality especially the Cuban people. It was in Cuban where he meets the Shamans and learns more about these unseen entities. These spiritual practitioners and healers could prove the existence of these entities using the shamanic water as a medium to communicate with them. These was done by observing the water before and after interaction with the unseen entity. The changes in the water and also in the individual shaman after interaction proved the existence of these unseen entities.
These unseen entities have direct impact on humanity and the natural world and learning more about them will assist human beings in knowing how to live harmoniously with these spirits. According to the author, acceptance of the existence of these unseen entities is the first forward step to learning more about them. These entities are far more powerful and intellectual than humans.Hence the need to study and understand them, their powers and their merits and demerits before actively engaging with them. The book also talks about how humans have gotten themselves into the illusion of one human being superior than the other. This illusion is solely rooted on material wealth which so many people invest much of their time and effort to acquire. Those who have it feel superior than those without. This mentality mostly comes from our education system which is rooted in competition instead of nurture of the human potential to it's fullest.Material wealth should be a sorce of growth and development for both the individual and the society as a whole but for this to happen we should start by changing our education system to empower humans not to go to destructive extent of competitions that we have today.
There are also our most current issues like the Covid_19 and the cold murder of George Floyd. The sole assumption that racism does not exist in the world today is something that should change and be addressed by the world governments. The book extensively talks about the challenges that the Cuban people face. Most of these issues are common all over the world. The author suggests the different types of intelligence humans could use to solve these problems with the help of the unseen entities, for harmony to exist among all humans and the natural world.Environmental degradation is a big concern also as humanity has not learnt to care for the earth which supports their life. This is brought about by the human consumerism nature that has seen the natural world all around suffer in human hands. This degradation will bring calamities which will force humanity to have a one world government which will hopefully bring harmony to humanity and the natural world. The author quotes the holy books like the Quran and the Bible and the wise Hindu sayings that foresee the coming of this one world government.
Personally the book was a very good read. Also a challenge to move from what we know and embrace the unknown. Accept that what we cannot see does actually exist. On the other hand it is quite hard to even think about it leave alone believe it without actual proof because in our world today what we see is mostly what exists for us. Whatever we cannot see does not exist. This is a challenge to make humanity abit more sensitive to other lives and other forces that exist whether we acknowledge them or not. Also the changes that the author suggests seem quit practical, but in our current world it will need alot of us to start living abit more conscious and sensitive to others for these changes to actualise. In general i do recommend the author. The book has great potential and it resonates with everyone.
I rate this book 3 out of 4.I took one point away because it does have some misplaced words in crucial and obvious places that are easy to point out and words omitted where they should not be omitted.Overal the book is well edited and not much gramatical errors appear.
I do recommend this book to everyone who loves change. It challenges our thinking as humans from all backgrounds and religions to better our lives and the natural world as a whole as we cannot exist alone without the many seen and unseen forces that support our lives.
