Randy the Irresistible is an exquisite novel authored by S M Goodier. This novel is about a guy whose name is Randy and he happens to be the last born in his family. Throughout the story we see Randy struggling to live life as an adult as he had been sheltered by his father for a long time.

The story begins with the scenario where Randy's mother passed earlier on and he continued to live with his dad despite being enrolled at the university. He begins looking for some extra cash and this becomes hard for him since he was spoiled, lazy and he liked to have too much fun. Being a college student he wanted a part time job and eventually he found one. After working for some time he got a good job offer in London and he decided to take it. His decision to move to London was also fueled by the fact that he was dreading to finish school and he also had to retake an exam that he had failed during the previous semester. Once he moved from his father’s house to London he realized that life was not easy as it seemed to be. He had to pay for his expenses from his pocket, clean up his mess and those were some of the things that he never did while he was at his father’s house. He also had the pressure to do better and this was difficult for him because back in his home town he used to get away easily without doing what was required of him.

The positive aspect I found about this book is that the author has used characters that the readers can easily relate to in their daily lives and this makes it more interesting. The book also carries the theme of persistence in everything that a person does. This virtue has borne fruits in the lives of the characters that have been used in this book.

The negative aspect I found is that minor characters keep on cropping up every now and then and this might confuse the reader.

I would rate this book a three out of four. I enjoyed reading it and I did not find any typos or grammar mistakes.

I recommend this book to young people who are navigating their way to adulthood as this would help them understand and feel that they are not alone in this journey. No one is perfect, we all have our challenges and by doing the right thing and being persistent the journey in joining adult hood becomes easier and this has been well portrayed in this book. A person who chooses to read this book should be of mature age since it contains some explicit content on sex.
