Secrets, lies, love, death, magic, and some great detective works of the great Russel Gaines are all some of the suspense packages in this novel detective mystery book, Inspector Mage: Blood On The Floor by Aleese Hughes. Russel Gaines a former detective with a cocky attitude who had solved many cases throughout his career, gave up police work when his little sister became a victim of the famous serial killer the New Age God, the same serial killer he had been hunting throughout his career. After five years of retirement, Russel had to take on a well-paid murder case from a famous and wealthy family because of his own financial needs.

The Melton family is well-known and respected for their famous inventions and their powerful magic gifts. And when a murder presented itself at the Melton's Manor, it was no surprise who was called for the case, the great detective who has been well-known throughout Osera. Would this first case after five years bring him any closer to the killer he has been hunting down? Or would he find greater interest?

The description of the details in the book Inspector Mage: Blood On The Floor demonstrates the author's ability to illuminate one's mind through writing. The author also gives details on the characterizations of each character when introducing them. There is also a snippet of how one of the inventions would look, leaving a reader with a vivid imagination of the type of setting the book is in. I love how the book is full of unexpected twists and has me forming my detective theories on who the killer might be, inducing me to turn another page.

The only fault I find with this book is the title Inspector Mage: Blood On The Floor, where the title seems to refer more to someone than something, whereas Mage is not a person. "Mage refers to the gift or power each individual possesses. I was able to read without any distractions from grammar errors. I was able to understand every introduction paragraph and how they all linked together. I don't have many negative reviews of this book.

I give Inspector Mage: Blood On The Floor a whopping 4 out of 4 stars because the book kept me entertained and enthralled, leaving me wanting to know what happened next. The book seems to be well-edited. I strongly recommend this book to readers who love a good mystery/detective book with a little romance and a lot of deception.
