Molly’s New Pony, Sir Wallace McGee, written by David Casentini, was a delightful children’s story. The book told the tale about a girl and her pony named Sir Wallace McGee. The pony had big dreams, and the girl encouraged her pony to reach those dreams. Even when the pony felt small compared to the other horses and discouraged by them, the girl’s encouragement shone through. It was up to the pony to decide if he would take her words to heart and achieve his goals.

This book was completely positive in every way. First, the illustrations in the book were colorful and expressive. They enriched the poems in a meaningful way. Second, the poems that told the story were creative and flowed easily. The vocabulary was easy to understand, which is perfect for young children. Third, the book taught some important lessons. It taught that everyone needs encouragement. We all need to be encouraged for the good work we do, or we would all be too discouraged to get anything done. The book also taught that through perseverance, you can do anything. Hard work is important, and it pays off. Lastly, it showed that being the best is usually unrealistic and unnecessary. What matters is if you try your best.

I found nothing negative about this book. While a couple of words could be tricky for young children, it would be a great way to challenge young readers. There were also no spelling or grammatical errors, as well as no crude language or sexual themes.

I would rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars. The book is a wonderful story, especially for young children. It teaches important lessons on hard work and encouragement, and the illustrations were great and made me smile. There was nothing negative about this book. I would highly recommend this book, especially to children who love horses.
