Review of Spellbound - The Workings of Drugtech
Spellbound - The Workings of Drugtech by Marcel Sahade is a collection of short stories that appear unrelated at first glance, yet there is a secret thread that ties the characters in these stories together. This connection is revealed at the end of the book.
These stories are tied to a pharmaceutical company called DrugTech, which claims to be interested in finding cures for diseases that people suffer from but is actually more concerned with making money. The research and development team at this company conducts hidden research and projects that no one knows about, while the management team, on the other hand, is unconcerned about the outcomes that do not make them money.
I enjoyed reading this book. The stories are short and varied. I admired the author's ability to surprise readers with unexpected endings. The mystery surrounding some of the stories and characters, such as the story of the barrister who succeeds in every case because of his ability to read people's faces, was one of my favorites. In fact, barrister Mr. Hunter is the character in this book that I adored the best. This individual possesses extraordinary abilities and is shrouded in obscurity.
On the other hand, there was not a single page in this book that I didn’t like reading. The writing style is fluid and engaging, making you want to keep reading. In addition, the book was well edited, in my opinion, as I found no grammatical or spelling issues in it. As a result, I gave the book a rating of 4 out of 4 stars.
I should point out that this book highlights issues about the world we live in, notably in terms of transparency in both private and public institutions. Is what officials announce the absolute truth, or is it a lie to hide the reality? This question may emerge in your mind while you read the story about the spaceship Atlantis. This spaceship was supposed to land on Mars, but NASA officials discovered shortly before landing that the landing system had been left behind, and the ship could not land. NASA officials decided to keep the matter covered because they were frightened of the media and losing money, so they let the spaceship crash on Mars, killing all of its crew.
In the end, I'd like to point out that this book is suitable for fans of suspense, mystery, with a spice of science fiction. As a result, I highly recommend that they read this book.
