The three musketeers( Alan , Mitch and Dave), as they called themselves that, and their wives go on a trip to an island called Martha's Vineyard. They were there because Dave's uncle had passed away from a "heart attack". He previously was the best editor there was, he had a lot of money. In the will, Dave had received a huge sum of money and the cottage which had costed millions of dollars. After being there for not longer than a day, they go to the cottage to find yellow tape wrapped around the house and policemen going in and out the house. They instantly wanted to know what happened; but when Detective Manny Gouveia had told that Dave's uncle had been murdered with arsenic, the whole trip went downhill. Did they believe him? Was all this a game? Now trying to figure out who had murdered such an innocent man, they come across many people who he had been in touch with, one of the people known as Teddy Brewster. Teddy had been living on the land every summer. They later discover that Teddy was also killed. Is all of this connected? As they try to unsolve the murder, they notice that people are either getting killed or kidnapped. Is someone trying to warn them? Can they unsolve the mystery before they are next on the list?

Glenn Ickler had made Arsenic and Old Men so that we think for ourselves, which is fantastic. We try and answer the questions before they do. The book turned out to be a suspense, mysterious and contains a lot of humor. What I liked about the book was that again it didn't contain mature scenes, and that it's not like normal murder mysteries. This book let's us be apart of the action, we get to try and be detectives of our own before the questions are answered.

There wasn't any part of the book where I never enjoy. I was eager to find out who murdered the man. It was almost like I was there being the detective.

With that being said I rate this book a 3 out of 4 stars. There were spelling and grammar errors here and there but that's all Arsenic and Old Men is highly enjoyable especially to those who like murder mysteries.

The book is great, if you like books where you must think before you get the answer then this book is recommended to you. And also especially to young adults as they usually like dark mysteries.

Wow. There are lots of questions (and murders!) in this story. It sounds like an engaging mystery.
