Three college friends, Royanda, Ginie and Emma take a bus to watch a dog race. As they journey along the busy streets of London they encounter numerous challenges. Emma who then resorts to being a lesbian after her friend, Royanda was dumped on WhatsApp and Mrs Winston who advises them to do away with boys. Ironing is an overview of life and all it brings forth especially in the 21st century. Peter who loses his apprenticeship's program and depends on his mother for cash to buy drugs. Caitlin who juggles between suitors to find a boyfriend in online dating. Genie's sister who is to marry a guy not acceptable to her father due to religion and caste. Old Steven who is in love with a woman who might not see him fit to be her boyfriend or lover. The college professor, Mr Campbell who is on the verge of losing his job because of an article he published on the football fan website.

Royanda drew my attention, In as much as she knew how crazy her mother's ideas were she always listened to her and took her advice. The strong friendship the girls have is amazing, Ginie never thought twice when she had to save Emma from the man who was bent on strangling her to death. After rendering the man unconscious not sure whether they had killed him or not, the first option was to escape and destroy all that they had with them on the eventful college night.

Ironing is an undeniably good book although some people may not like the use of slang which is the most dominant in the dialogues. The characters were a bit too many which may also be a drawback to other people who would rather be concentrating on a few. In this case one may loose track of the whole story.

I would recommend this novel to mostly the curious reader and one who wants an insight into the advancing world as this book tackles almost all present day life's issues. In as far as age is concerned I would say its best that only individuals above the age of at least twelve can read the book. It contains sensitive issues like dating and relationships which may otherwise be irrelevant content for children.

This is a well written novel, highlighting all what proves to be problem causing in this current times. All things considered I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. Navajo stopped at nothing to provide good content. Great use of words and amazing plot twists, Ironing is indeed a wonderful read.
