How To Be Successful by M. Curtis McCoy

How To Be Successful can be distilled in an excerpt from Chapter 10:
"For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, 'This man began to build and was not able to finish'" (Luke 14v28-30)

What I like is the simplicity of the "teachings", and how they are short and direct. I also liked how Mr. McCoy tries to bring them closer by relating a story or something like that to establish a staying power. What I liked most is that it is one of the most practical books I've read on the subject of how to lead a successful life, and clear.

What I, or you may not like is that you will keep reading about Mr. McCoy interviewing a bunch of [successful] people asking them the same questions. he does it to internalize the key questions one has to ask themselves if they are to make progress, but you'll want skip through them after a while. One thing I also don't like is the presentation of the book - it just doesn't look super professional. It's like those low budget Bible movies that you must watch but the quality of it puts you off - makes the content almost incredulous.

I chose this book because I want to be successful in as many ways as I can be. I learned a lot from this memorable work, and had an epiphany or two. Put away the way the presentation of the work and the content speaks for itself.

I would rate How To be Successful a 2 out of 4; a good book I have to judge because of the way it looks.
