After finding the dead body of a middle-aged woman shot thrice mercilessly in broad daylight, passionate and rational Raleigh detective Marc Allen takes the stand to investigate in search of the heartless murderer. He is joined by Denise Clawsew, a veteran camera operator, an old friend, and the popular newscaster Lancaster Heart. But even with assistance from the news department and many attempts, Marc ends up with almost no clues and a very small list of suspects which puts him in a dilemma questioning his experience and capability.
Months pass by with no lead in the case and Marc's incompetence vexes him until another murder in the town of Raleigh gives him hope in the form of a clue. Will this clue be enough? Will he ever find the murderer? Could it be someone he has met before?

The flower girl murder by Keith Hirshland is a very engaging suspense-filled crime story with an interesting and realistic plot that kept me on my toes the whole time. From passionate love, steamy sex, and convincing humor to horrors of reality, negative emotions, and thrilling mystery, this book contains a good variety of various elements.

Keith Hirshland, being a former media person, showed his skill with his highly descriptive, applaud-worthy narration. It felt like I lived through every page of the book. The sweet and romantic subplot of Lancaster Heart and his girlfriend Brodie Murdoch was really appealing to me, it constantly gave a pause to all the thrill and horror.

Although it was well edited with no mistakes, I give this book a three out of four rating, the reason being that some parts were over-exaggerated and unnecessary. The storyline was stretched to random and non-related scenarios. The author played around to the point where it got boring at certain parts. Also, the ending was sloppy and could have been better in my personal opinion.

Regardless, all the adrenaline surges and eye pop-outs made it worth reading all the way through. I would recommend this to people who like the thrill of suspense and detailed stories that make you feel like you're experiencing it for real.
