Who were we before we were born? Did we have a different life before we came into existence? I have always asked myself these questions at many points in life. I was so amazed by how this book handled the questions.

Fulfillment: A Journey Through a Spiritual Life is an exciting and inspiring book by ICA. The book's introduction begins with an interesting explanation of how God manifests Himself to us and how our brain interprets that communication in a way that we can understand. I loved the author's analogies throughout the book, particularly in the dialog between the Soul and the Spirit Guide. The Spirit Guide cautions the Soul for what awaits him on earth and urges him to remember what he learned while in heaven. That introduction sets the stage for the central message of the book.

As you read along, you begin to understand what the author wants to communicate. For instance, the Soul and Spirit Guide’s dialog prepares the reader for a new chapter in life that the Soul, which represents human beings, begins. According to the book, our primary mission on earth is to love and help each other. Then God, in different forms, comes to our aid whenever we need any help, and we reciprocate that help to others when they need it. I am intrigued by the author's use of ‘She’ and ‘He’ pronouns interchangeably to refer to God. But in the introduction, he explains that God does not share the concept of dualism.

The book depicts human beings’ first experience on earth in a concept of duality of joy and pain. We are usually happy to begin an adventure on earth but sad to leave heaven. However, through the duality experience, we can gain the knowledge and understanding that the world offers. The book is not a one-time read. It will require the reader to ponder on it for a deeper understanding. For instance, the thought of forgetting everything to start a new learning experience is mind-blowing when you think about it. We soon become walking sponges, and the more we learn, the more we want to know further. The problem is, we only desire lovely experiences. We constantly forget that fulfillment comes after we align our expectations with the duality concept.

I generally loved reading this book from the beginning to the end. I would hence recommend it to readers who love spiritual books. People who have questions about human existence, God, and human relationships, or people who love reincarnation stories will find the book enjoyable no matter their religion.

I rate the book 4 out of 4 stars because it was exceptionally well-edited, engaging, and enjoyable to read. I look forward to reading more books from this author.
