Ironing is a fictional story written by Navajo. The main story is about three girls named Emma, Ginie, and Royanda. This book gives us a glimpse of the everyday life of ordinary people. The story is set in London.

Emma, Ginie, and Royanda are college girls, and are friends with each other. They were going to visit the Greyhound racing centre in East London. The story is about the journey through the bus and what happens next in the race. The girls were very cheerful, humorous, and youthful. They made friends on the bus. The chemistry between three friends is fantastic. The jokes they shared between them and the other passengers made me laugh. Royanda was going through her breakup. But her friends and the passengers cheered her up. There are some sub-stories other than the main story. The stories are not connected to the main story. There is a story of a teacher named Mr. Campbell. One day, he met one of his old students, and the story continued. On the other hand, there is a story about the Huefara family. The stories are concise and are not connected.

The main story was good. As I said before, the connection between the three friends is appreciable, and I enjoyed the humor. The author reflected a part of our everyday life that is very relatable. My favorite character was Emma. I loved her sense of humor. The author also highlighted that how much Emma loves her mother.

However, there are a few things that I didn’t like about this book. There was not any space between the short stories. I had a tough time understanding that what was going on. So, it was hard to concentrate. There were too many characters, and they didn’t have any background stories. The writing quality was not very good. There was too much repetition, and I felt weird to read.

I don’t think the book is professionally edited. So, I am rating this book two out of four stars. I cut two stars because of the reasons I explained earlier. The story itself was good. But the other things made the book not a great one. However, other readers may find this book fascinating. So, I recommend this book to those readers who love humor stories and would love to go on a friendly adventure. But I must warn you, as this book contains some profanities and vulgar contents. So, sensitive readers should be aware of these facts.
