I've seen pets that kept the house free of pests, dangerous animals, and thieves. Others have diligently protected and defended their owners from intruders. In Serendipity Mystery by R. F. Kristi, Inca and her team accomplished a formidable task.

Inca is a Siberian cat owned by a human mom. Other members of her team include Fromage, Cara, Monk, Charlotte, Terrance, and Polo. In this book, Inca and her family traveled to Sri Lanka. However, in addition to vacationing in idyllic environments, serious tasks awaited them. Inca and her team soon got wind of an unsolved museum heist, and as expected, the incredible detective team sprung into action. The assistance of Rani the turtle and Meena the elephant brought interesting twists to the story.

Once again, Kristi's book was spot on. The characters were properly developed for the target audience. I particularly found the characterization of the elephant amusing. It perfectly blends with my knowledge of elephants as being caring to their young and wary of strangers. The narrative is also simple and comical enough for kids.

The plot development and sequence of events are believable. It would make an interesting movie for kids. My most favorite aspect of this book is the bright and colorful illustrations. The illustration of Inca and her friends sitting astride the elephant was quite realistic and attractive.

This book contains valuable lessons for young ones. The coalition of turtles, dogs, cats, and elephants teaches kids that we all need to be team players and people of different capabilities can work together for a united purpose.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. It was awesomely edited. I have no dislikes about this book. I enjoyed reading through the well-crafted, suspenseful story. It is also free of profanities and religious themes. Children aged 4 to 9 years would find this book interesting.
