Legacy by Chris Coppel

In the middle of the night, sudden banging on the door wakes up the entire Edmond household. When Craig Edmonds open the door he founds a delivery of a large box on his doorstep with no information about its sender. When he and his family open that box they find a very old mirror in it. Despite having a hunch that something isn't right Craig still allows that mirror to stay in their house but soon after that bizarre events start to happen in his life. Then a few days later his wife disappears. And now there is only one person who can help Craig to learn about what has happened to his wife and how he can save her.

Legacy by Chris Coppel is a story about deputy sheriff Craig Edmonds and his quest to save his family. It is a 252 pages long horror-thriller novel written in third person point of view.

What I liked about this novel is that it is fairly fast-paced. There are no unnecessary details that can make readers lose interest. I especially liked the twist that the author added in the end. The epilogue of the book leaves some room for a sequel. However, there is no cliffhanger in it so people who usually want to avoid reading novels because of cliffhangers can also read them.

One thing that I disliked about the Legacy is that all characters in it are kind of dry. While the story is interesting and engaging, the characters in it are not. Throughout the novel, I didn't felt attached to any character. Despite a good backstory that is given to Craig, his character didn't leave any impact on me.

I'll give this book 3 out of 4 stars. I can't give it four stars because of the reason I stated in the paragraph above. I won't give it any less than three stars because the book was engaging and well-edited. I only found two small errors in it.

Lastly, I'll recommend this book to people who like thriller novels with supernatural, paranormal elements. There is no adult content in it and despite being a horror thriller it isn't disturbing at all so anyone above the age of 12 can read it.
