[rwc=id364008-125]4 out of 4 stars.[/rwc]The Dark Web Murders By Brian O’Hare

Whenever you start reading a new book, it’s with anticipation and great expectation that you turn the pages. Brian O’Hare does not disappoint in delivering a true page turner with a blood chilling, mind boggling plot. I give the book a rating of 4 out of 4.

The Dark Web Murders by Brian O’Hare starts off with a short bio on all characters involved, which is quite unique, but very sufficient. The reader starts off with a sense of all the characters which eliminates any need for lengthy chapters of introducing each main character. By adding this he can immediately jump into setting the scene and introducing the plot, with no distractions. The characters is well fleshed out in the following chapters.

A serial killer is on the loose in Northern Ireland and a team of detectives led by Sheehan, tries blindly to connect the murders. The killer leaves no clues and the detectives as well as the reader are baffled till the very last chapters as to motive and the killer’s identity.

The discovery of the killer’s blogs on the Dark web only add to the mystery and suspense as the killer in lurid detail describe each killing. Sheenan’s famed intuition is put to the test as he and his team try desperately to find the killer before he kills again. Neimen or Punisher as the killer calls himself is extremely intelligent and uses philosophical arguments in each blog to justify himself as a punisher of those that wronged and a tool of justice. The relish with which he describes each act however negates all delusions of him being impartial and in fact strengthens the impression of the killer as a cold blooded and arrogant psychopath.

Till the last few chapters the reader is kept guessing and in a final twist and incredible climax that will stick with me for a long time all is revealed.

As an avid reader of the Mystery and Detective genres I am surprised that O’Brian is not better known. His writing style and plot creation is as good if not better as any of the better known authors out there. O’Hare definitely deserves more recognition as he leaves readers guessing till the last. I will most definitely recommend The Dark Web Murders to any mystery fan. The content is not for sensitive readers and might upset some.
