Review by Pandaexpress64 -- We are Voulhire: The Knights...
Matthew Tysz comes out with another great hit in his We Are Voulhire series, titled We Are Voulhire: The Knights of Chalethire, that leaves you in despair and curiosity for what is yet to come. Galen, Rowan, and Demetrius pick up where they left off in a new city learning and training for what is yet to come. Whereas others across the land plot and turmoil over who should conquer and rule. The author continues to amaze his readers as the story unfolds with new lands and characters alike. It seems as though each book reveals deeper and darker secrets that are unpredictable to the reader which is brilliant. There is never a boring moment which is always a delight in fantasy, adventure books such as this.
I feel as though this book in particular is about character development. This is the point where each character goes through a glow-up, if you will, and learns more about themselves and their strengths. This is a positive thing in my opinion because there has been so much that has happened that I keep thinking that there is no room for anything positive to happen. Everyone’s lust for power continues to thrive and pester into an unbearable amount of greed. Galen and his innocence are our only hope!
To be honest, at this point in time, I do not have anything negative to say about this book because it is no longer about following the plot of the story anymore. If you look deeper than the plot you can also sense a thin line for morality and what is determined as right and wrong based on different characters perspectives. It really is quite mind boggling because some of the characters had good intentions yet caused destructions and vice versa. There is a deeper, underlining meaning to this story that relates to the world we live in today. This saddens me but at the same time makes me think about the symbolism and impact this book has. This series really is outstanding, and I hope others are seeing the greatness in the authors words.
I would rate this book a 4 out of 4 because clearly, I am a fan of this series and really appreciate the hard work the author put in to making this creation. The book is not only beautifully written but also professionally well edited which is great for the readers to enjoy. The thrill and excitement that is within each page is out of this world. One can never go wrong with such a fascinating storyline such as this.
I would recommend this book to those who enjoy a fantasy/adventure book that keeps you on your toes and leaves you more confused in the end than in the beginning. The more you reread the more interesting it gets but also the more questions you have about what will happen next. This book contains magic, mystery, thrilling action scenes, and a bit of profanity. Furthermore, due to the profanity, I would say this series is for more of a mature audience rather than a young adult novel. Nevertheless, this book intrigues the mind and, in a way, pulls at your heart strings as you become more attached to the characters.
