We are Voulhire: The Knights of Chalethire by Matthew Tysz is the fourth book in the We Are Voulhire series. Following the chaos of the previous book, our trio of main characters have now settled in Chalethire, a beautiful city in Voulhire. They seek help from the golden knights of the city to defeat the demons in Virko, while learning of their own powers and talents.

Continuing the example set in the three novels before, the author’s unique writing style draws the reader in and makes them want to keep reading to discover what happens next. This book introduces a number of new characters, one of whom is a strong female leader paladin Harper Renard, who becomes Galen's love interest while attempting to help him in combating the demons.

What I love about the book, and what is present in the whole series to date, is that there is always character development. No character ever becomes boring and we are regularly introduced to new characters who all have important roles in the series. No character is ever unnecessary or just there to fill a gap. I like the pace of the book and as always it is filled with action and adventure.

I cannot identify anything I disliked about the book, and as always it leaves you just wanting to read just one more page to see what happens. The writing allows the reader to fully imagine every scene and makes you feel like you are there in the middle of the action. The world that the author has created is a wonderful escape from reality without feeling made up, and the lore of Voulhire is constantly fleshed-out and built-on with every new book.

As with the rest of the series, this book is packed with action, fantasy, deception, as well as some romance for a nice change of pace. This book does contain quite a bit of profanity and violence that might not be for everyone but overall it is an amazing book. There were basically no errors in the book, making it a well-edited story.

Based on the above, I give the book 4 out of 4 stars. It is a great and exciting read. I would not recommend the book for young children because of the language and violence. If you are a lover of fantasy, adventure and action then this is a must read. I look forward to the next adventure.
