The novel Soul Seeker by Kaylin McFarren is a well written fictional and supernatural tale. It follows the tale of a mythical creature Crighton, who in the first part is adamant in bringing justice to the protagonist's son in the first part. The protagonist himself, Benjamin Poe, is tortured by the insecurity that Crighton brings upon him and his distraught family. To what end will the suffering of Crighton have on the life of Poe.

In the second part of the book, we get to see more insights into the life of Crighton and his impossible story of a connection between him and the timid angel Ariel. Crighton comes to learn of big, deep, and dark secrets that his mother has been keeping from him, will he, a demon, ever find true love and that too with an angel?

Soul Seeker, is a truly wonderful story that explores the supernatural in a truly different light. I enjoyed how the author gives the demons and angels qualities that are so much like the human characters yet at the same time not demeaning the fact that they are powerful beings out of this world. I also loved how the tale brings to us a clear and easy to relate with the vision of hell, a vision that terrifies yet at the same time draws you in to read on and find out more.

The surprising union of the demon and angel also is something that excited me as I was reading the book. Throughout their chase and flight, I was at the edge of my seat hoping and praying that the two end up together.

However, I did not much enjoy how the author sort of uses a long while in the first part of the book dwelling on Poe and building up the story and the supernatural aspect, which we get to see almost at the end of the first part. I get that this is essential to build up the anticipation, but still, it just felt too long.

Individuals who love a good romantic tale mixed up with a slice of the mythical and a good chase would extremely enjoy reading this book. However, I would not recommend the book to young readers since there are several instances of profanity and some sexual scenes, albeit not too much. I believe this book would be well suited for a more mature audience.

I would rate this awesome book 4 out of 4 stars. I believe that this book deserves this rating because I barely saw any errors while reading it and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
