Just like the title of the book, this is a book that provides concise information about how to excel despite the trials and anxieties of life. Are you looking forward to being a successful entrepreneur? What is your excuse for failing to meet your needs? Do your family's social and economic status drowning you in pitfalls? Take a bold step by reading How To Be Successful by M. Curtis McCoy to find answers to life's important questions about success.

This is a book less than 200 pages showcasing the lives of many successful entrepreneurs ranging from his mom, a pastor, and a publisher. Curtis started by explaining to his readers his path to success. Despite being a type-1 diabetic, he encountered another major setback as he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. For millions of people, the end is around the corner. Still, his mother was not ready to give up on him. Like a loving mother worthy of imitation, she was ready to fight for the life of her son by seeking alternative treatment in Tijuana, Mexico. Upon recovery and a second chance to live, he was inspired to write this book for the present and future generations who are struggling with finances. Readers will find exciting topics such as Delayed Gratification, Improve Your Attitude, and What Happens When you Become Successful?

More emphasis on the last topic, I have never come across a book that prepares one for what lies ahead after hitting it big. What will you do when you have an overnight success? Who will be your friends? I think it is high time I started to examine those self-scrutinizing questions. As a lover of books, a poet, and a writer, this book further encourages me to continue reading especially books that talk about success. Audiobooks are also mentioned as some prefer to listen.

A better way to deliver such a masterpiece is to be conversational. This was what McCoy did by considering his readers' opinions on the subject as he tailored his ladder of success in the book. With a series of Bible passages quoted, it made me feel appreciative of God's written word. McCoy must be a devoted Christian to know how these verses fit in. The interviews found in the book also mentioned some important qualities one must have to be successful. Added to what I found beneficial was that, in the end, all that matters is family, and this was explicitly explained in the book. With many definitions of success, one that intrigues me is "Constant Progress." This definition encompasses all other meanings of success.

However, I rate this book four out of four stars. I can't imagine a better rating because of its urgency and importance of the book. One glitch I found unnecessary was McCoy's faith about people going to heaven. I appreciate his opinion, but I thought it is best to keep the belief to himself as not all religions support the subject. I must warn readers to examine their faith carefully before reading the book. This book is professionally well-edited as it contains no errors. This book will be appealing to virtually everyone, but lovers of inspirational books will find it exciting.
