Review by SweetEchoJenn -- We are Voulhire: The Knights ...
War is searing across the Kingdom of Voulhire. Galen, Rowan and Demetrius flee to Chalethire in search for help and safety. High Paladin Harper Renard takes an interest in their story. Together, they travel to Virko, so she is able to confirm that there are demons. While there, they are attacked. Galen and his companions escape, but it comes with a heavy cost. Rowan is captured by those demons. With great regret, Galen and Demetrius are forced to leave Rowan behind. Will Harper be able to gather the forces necessary to defeat the demons in Virko? Will Galen and Demetrius save Rowan in time? The Riva Rohavi are dancing patiently for their chance to storm and overtake Chalethire. King Nartik has his sights on the Knights of Mianora. Will he send Voulhire’s military to help the knights fight against the Riva Rohavi? From his high position of eiodi, Meldorath is gaining the admiration of his followers. What is the next step of his plans? Who will be victorious after the smoke clears?
I liked the fast-pace of this novel. The action of We are Voulhire: The Knights of Chalethire by Matthew Tysz has the plot progressing swiftly. New characters with new ambitions bring a fresh dimension to the story. Galen continues to learn about his craft as well as aiding the war. We also learn more about Rowan and Demetrius as well which lead to interesting developments.
There is nothing I disliked about this novel. I did not find any mistakes or typos. The book seems professionally edited. There is violence with many profane words. In my opinion, it only enhances the emotion of the book. I have many more questions that I am eagerly awaiting the answers to.
I rate this book four out of four stars. As the reader discovers more of the series, the more thrilling it gets. The circumstances of shock forge anticipation during the story. There are multiple circumstances happening at the same time that come together seamlessly during the novel.
The Knights of Chalethire is the fourth book in the We are Voulhire sci-fi series. I recommend this novel to sci-fi/fantasy readers. I think that mystery and magic lovers would enjoy this book as well. With the violence and profanity in the story, I do not recommend it to children. I was completely enticed by this gripping story. The exhilaration and suspense of this book make it a worthwhile read.
